Dave Pollin

Dave Pollin is the Co-Founder and President of The Buccini/Pollin Group (“BPG”), headquartered in Washington, DC. He also serves as Chairman of PM Hotel Group, the hotel management affiliate of BPG. Mr. Pollin leads the firms’ hotel acquisition, development and capital markets efforts.

The Buccini/Pollin Group has acquired and developed over $4 billion of properties in every real estate asset class throughout the United States since its founding in 1993. BPG is the developer, owner and operator of over 30 hotels, six million square feet of office space, 15 residential communities, numerous retail properties, and multiple sports/entertainment venues.

Among BPG’s affiliates, PM Hotel Group manages over 40 hotels for BPG and third party clients, with managed revenue in excess of $350 million. BPGS Construction is based in Wilmington, Delaware and has 100 associates focused on general contracting, tenant improvements and owner representation services. BPG Real Estate Services develops and manages office projects for BPG, while Reside BPG oversees BPG’s multi-family residential efforts. The principals of BPG are also co-founders and owners of Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union, having developed and constructed Talen Energy Stadium, the team’s home field in Chester, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Pollin is currently serving as: Nominating Committee Co-Chair of the Economic Club of Washington; Cornell Hotel School’s Dean’s Advisory Board; Cornell University Council; Canopy by Hilton’s Owner Advisory Council; Trustee of The Holton Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland; and Revere Bank of Maryland’s Washington, DC Advisory Board. In years past, Mr. Pollin served on the Federal City Council of Washington, DC; Starwood Hotels & Resorts North American Owner’s Advisory Council; Owner Advisory Council of Hilton’s Embassy Suites brand; was a founding board member of Monument Bank of Maryland; Co-Founder and President of the Board of Starlight Children’s Foundation MidAtlantic; and Regional Chair of the Northeast US Region of the Young Presidents Organization. Prior to co-founding The Buccini/Pollin Group and PM Hotel Group, Mr. Pollin was a consultant with Laventhol & Horwath and worked in operations with Westin and Sheraton. David Pollin graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

 

Greg Miller

Greg Miller is a founder and Managing Director. Mr. Miller’s dossier of operations experience includes management roles with Marriott, Westin and Doubletree Hotels. During his early operations career, Mr. Miller served on management teams for two Mobil Five Star Award winning properties – the Arizona Biltmore (Westin) and Camelback Inn (Marriott).

Beyond the operations track, Mr. Miller has extensive knowledge of project development, franchise, strategic planning, financial valuation and appraisal. Prior to the creation of PM Hotel Group, he served as the Development Director for Crowne Plaza Hotels covering a 10-state region. As a manager for a leading hospitality consulting firm upon graduating from Cornell, he completed numerous development planning, site selection, market study, and financial feasibility analysis for a wide range of lodging projects.

Mr. Miller received his degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. He actively serves on several advisory and steering committees for hotel and tourism education. Mr. Miller currently serves on AHLA’s Board of Directors, is active on both its Management Council as well as its Legislative Advocacy Committee, and is the Hotel Component President for the Virginia Restaurant Lodging & Tourism Association where he is also a member of its Executive Committee. Mr. Miller is a 10-year board member of the Assoc. of Starwood Franchise Owner’s Board, is a past chair of the CVB where he resides, and has served as a commissioner for his county’s Economic Development Commission.

 

Robert E. Buccini

Mr. Buccini co-founded The Buccini/Pollin Group, Inc. (BPG) in 1993.  As Co-President he is responsible for and leads the company’s residential, commercial, retail, parking, sports and entertainment development activities.  Since co-founding the company, Mr. Buccini has grown the company to over $4 billion in assets, including ownership of six million square feet of office and retail space, 6,500 hotel rooms, 2,000 apartments and four live entertainment venues.  In addition, Mr. Buccini co-founded and is co-owner of Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union.

Mr. Buccini is Chairman of the Wilmington Housing Partnership, a non-for-profit developer that is one of the region’s leading home builders, member of the Board of Directors for the Vice President of the United States Residence Foundation, member of the Board of Trustees for the Nature Conservancy of Delaware and a member of the Cornell University Council.

Prior to founding BPG, Mr. Buccini was employed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation.  Mr. Buccini received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cornell University.

 

Christopher Buccini

Chris Buccini is Co-President of The Buccini/Pollin Group, Inc. (“BPG”), and founder and President of BPG Real Estate Services, LLC, the entity responsible for BPG’s office, residential, retail, and parking management and leasing efforts. Mr. Buccini is responsible for the ultimate performance of the company’s commercial, retail, parking and entertainment activities, leading its acquisitions, financing, leasing, operations, and disposition efforts. Since joining BPG in 1999, Mr. Buccini has grown the company to over $4 billion in assets, including ownership of six million square feet of office and retail space, 6,500 hotel rooms, 2,000 apartments and four live entertainment venues. Mr. Buccini is a director of PM Hotel Group, Inc, a hotel management company with over 3,500 rooms under management. In addition, Mr. Buccini co-founded and is co-owner of Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union.

Mr. Buccini is the founder and current member of the Board of The Light Up The Queen Foundation; a member of the Board of Trustees of Wilmington Friends School; on the Board of Directors of the Brandywine Conservancy, United Way of Delaware, and Wilmington Renaissance Corporation; and a member of the Delaware Business Roundtable, City of Chester Institute for Economic Development, and Hagley Museum and Library Council of Advisors.

Prior to The Buccini/Pollin Group, Mr. Buccini was the Director of Acquisitions and Senior Vice President of Barrow Street Capital, LLC, a New York City-based real estate private equity fund which is an affiliate of Greenhill and Company. Prior to joining Barrow Street, Mr. Buccini was a Vice President at Eastdil Realty, where he was involved in the disposition, financing and development of investment quality office, retail, industrial, lodging and multi-family projects.

Mr. Buccini received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University.

 

Wesley Schwandt

Mr. Schwandt is President of BPGS Construction, a full-service Construction & Development Management company with offices in Wilmington, Delaware and Washington, D.C. The primary function of BPGS is to oversee all construction and development related activities for Buccini/Pollin, Buccini/Pollin Real Estate Services, and select third party clients. Mr. Schwandt brings his individual focus to each project undertaken, bringing a leadership role throughout the process with ownership, designers, and the end user.

Prior to joining Buccini/Pollin and founding BPGS Construction in 1998, Mr. Schwandt spent eight years with an industry leading full service CM/GC firm operating throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Schwandt held positions as a Senior Estimator and Project Manager before becoming a Vice President and corporate officer. Mr. Schwandt received his Bachelor of Science degree from Lehigh University’s School of Business and Economics, with concentrations in law and architecture.

Mr. Schwandt’s community experience includes: Board of Directors for Preservation Delaware, Inc. (2003 – 2008); the statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of Delaware’s irreplaceable architectural heritage and historical settings.

2006 Co-chair for the United Way Campaign for the State of Delaware. Board of Directors for the Delaware Preservation Fund (2003 – present); a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to provide low interest loans for historically oriented renovations.

Board of Directors for the Delaware Contractors Association (2007 – present); the states leading construction services organization with direct affiliation to the AGC or Associated General Contractors of America.

Board of Directors for the Delaware Nature Society (2008 – 2014); a pre-eminent non-profit environmental organization in the state, integrating education as a vital element in preservation, conservation, and advocacy.

 

Joseph Bojanowski
josephtie2-7314 In his role as president, Joseph oversees the operation and profitability of PM Hotel Group’s award winning portfolio of hotels, working with Hilton, Marriott, Starwood and Choice Hotels franchise affiliates. As a past director of the Delaware Hotel and Lodging Association, Joseph remains actively involved in numerous industry related associations and organizations. Previously, Joseph worked with two of the industry’s leading hotel companies – Doubletree Hotels and Winegardner Hammons. During his tenure there, Joseph served on executive committees for resorts, conference centers and full-service airport and university hotels. With more than 20 years of management experience in the hospitality industry, he has extensive experience in food & beverage, rooms division operations, sales & marketing, development, openings and renovations nationwide. Since joining PM Hotel Group in 1997, Joseph has played a critical role in the growth of the company. In addition to Joseph’s current role, he has served PM Hotel Group as president – Asia Pacific, vice president – operations, and vice president – new builds and transitions.

 

James O’Hara
James O'Hara - Board of Directors - PM Hotel Group Hotel Management As chief financial officer, Jim is responsible for the finance, accounting, tax and IT functions for PM Hotel Group. He most recently served as CFO for a real estate developer specializing in industrial/flex properties in the Washington, D.C. area. His prior background includes eight years in public accounting, where he served as CFO for hire with several large national clients and prepared corporate, partnership and individual tax returns, as well as audits. Jim is a CPA licensed in Maryland and a member of the AICPA. He holds a degree in accounting from University of Maryland.

 

Martha Foulon-Tonat
 

Martha Foulon-Tonat is an experienced banking executive with more than 37 years in the industry.

Ms.Foulon-Tonat spent the majority of her career as an Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer for two Washington DC area community banks, Allegiance Bank and EagleBank. She was a founding senior staff member of EagleBank. Most recently she was President and Chief Administrative Officer for Monument Bank until the bank’s merger with Revere Bank.

She served on the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development small business committee, where she was the founding Treasurer and participated on the loan committee of the Montgomery County Bankers Small Business Loan Fund.  Ms. Foulon-Tonat is currently active with the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and in getting the vote out.

In 2015 she was named as one of the Washington Business Journal’s “Women Who Mean Business” and was honored with the Maryland Bankers’ Association Council of Professional Women in Banking and Finance Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.

 

Simon M. Turner - Alpha Lodging Partners
 

Simon Turner has held diverse senior leadership roles over 35 years in the hospitality sector, gaining experience in numerous facets of the hotel business including senior executive and board oversight of public and private enterprises. He has extensive global strategic, operational and transactional experience related to complex property assets, brands, and operating businesses. His experience has also included advisory assignments, strategic planning, asset management, expert witness, capital-raising, loan workouts and M&A. His past board service has included Four Seasons, Fairmont and ClubCorp.

Mr. Turner formed Alpha Lodging Partners in 2017 to make selective investments and to provide investment and strategic advisory services to hospitality sector companies and investors. Prior to this, he was President, Global Development for Starwood Hotels and Resorts. His previous experience includes: Principal, Hotel Capital Advisers, Inc., a hotel investment advisory firm overseeing both hotel brand (Four Seasons and Fairmont) and property investments in North America and Europe for a high net worth Middle Eastern investor; lodging sector investment banker at Salomon Brothers; Manager, Pannell Kerr Forster, an international hotel and tourism consulting firm; and Operations Analyst in Saudi Arabia for Gustar Hoteliers, a Swiss-based hotel management and marketing company.

He is currently an adjunct lecturer at NYU’s Hospitality and Tourism program as well as a frequent lecturer at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Cornell’s executive education program and Columbia University’s graduate real estate program.

 

P.J. Yeatman - Founder, CoveredBridge Ventures
 

P.J. Yeatman is an experienced real estate and business leader with more than 25 years of expertise in private equity. He founded CoveredBridge Ventures in 2011.

Mr. Yeatman was previously the Head of Private Equity Real Estate for CenterSquare Investment Management, the real estate investment subsidiary of BNY Mellon. In that role he was responsible for managing all aspects of a $2B private equity business consisting of three discretionary commingles value add funds and two non-discretionary separate accounts. He served as the Chairman of the Investment Committee and exercised final authority over all private real estate investment decisions for the fund.

Before joining CenterSquare, Mr. Yeatman was the Senior Managing Principal of Lubert-Adler Partners where he led a $10B opportunity fund business for the firm’s founding partners. His primary responsibilities focused on sourcing and executing new investments, managing investor relationships, and executing the daily operations. During his tenure at Lubert-Adler, he participated in raising $6B of total equity across Lubert-Adler Funds III, IV, V and VI.
Yeatman also sourced, underwrote and executed transactions with a focus on leading the firm’s public to private business and distressed investments. Notable investments include Central Parking, Mervyn’s, Service Merchandise, Polartec, ABFS and the restructuring of the Stamford Waterfront.

In 2007 Mr. Yeatman was named one of 20 Rising Stars globally by Private Equity Real Estate. He is also a frequent guest speaker/lecturer at Wharton, Harvard, ICSC, ULI, CRE and a published author in the Journal of Real Estate Economics. He previously served on the boards of Central Parking Corporation and Mervyn’s department stores. Mr. Yeatman graduated from Babson College, with a BS in Economics in 1992 and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an MS in Real Estate Development in 1999.
